I love this inspired occasional series "Desktop Diaries" from the radio show Science Friday. First of all, I'm a sucker for science and scientists (My father actually was a rocket scientist). Secondly, it's fascinating to see (and hear analysis - these are scientists, after all) what makes different people productive. Brian Greene, for instance, finds that clear space stimulates his creativity. On the other hand, Oliver Sacks, in another Desktop Diaries video, surrounds himself with favorite objects.

While watching the video, note the 2 laptops and large monitor on the desk - many studies attest to the increased productivity of dual monitors, and it is very easy to set up a second monitor with any modern computer.
