Apple has scheduled a press conference for this Tuesday, October 14, 2008. The heavy rumor is that they'll be announcing a new line of notebooks - some could be as low-priced as $899. Me: Oh sure - this news comes 2 days after I took the plunge and bought a new macbook. However, I am deliriously happy with it and my decision to switch from the pc platform. The transition is even easier than I thought it would be. As always, thanks for your updates.

Clyde's response: You have 14 days to return notebook. When did you buy it?

Me: I just bought it last Wednesday, so I would be within 14 days if new product announcement is irresistible. However, I am happy with the purchase, and there is a 10% restocking fee to return; new product would need to have significant advantages for me to consider exchange.
