Clearing the Desks

Friday night, after taking Intuit's suggestion to download a software update, Quicken locked up on me. The solution seemed to be to find an unlock code from a February email. No problem, I always print out emails with software codes.

Unfortunately, the paper was nowhere to be found in the file where it should have been. To add insult to injury, after house guests followed by a five day trip, then a very busy week, my desk was out of control. I was feeling pretty stressed.

Sunday night, I spent one hour following my own advice to clear my desk. And Voila!, when I made one last pass through my software file, I found the document where it had been all along. That's the power of the clarity and focus that comes from clearing the decks.

This weekend may allow you the time to give yourself the same gift. My wish for you is that you all began the busy holiday season with a feeling of peace.
